Soheil joined the firm in 2008 with extensive public practice experience at international firms in both Canada and the United States. He is in charge of my firm’s quality control and professional development and provides such client services as financial statement audits and reviews, tax compliance and planning, business advisory, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and litigation support including providing expert testimony.
His client portfolio comprise of businesses in various sectors and industries, including real estate development, professional and health services, manufacturing and distribution, technology, entertainment, publicly traded entities, retailers and franchisors, mutual funds, and not-for-profit organization. He has working knowledge of U.S. and International Financial Reporting Standards.
His audit experience includes TSX Venture listed companies including those in exploration and development of mineral properties inside and outside of Canada, and large-cap public companies in US. At CB Richard Ellis, a Fortune 500 company and the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm, as a senior financial analyst, he acted as the liaison with the financial statement auditors and the Sarbanes Oxley auditors of the US segment.
In addition to excellent client service, Soheil also provides consulting services to other public accounting firms with respect to engagement quality control reviews, IFRS conversions, accounting for complex transactions and cyclical monitoring. He has served as a part-time inspector with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and is currently a seminar leader at the School of Accountancy. He is the author and instructor of the ASPE in Real Estate Industry course for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
