Stephen Altbaum has seen remarkable changes at Lipton LLP, the firm he helped found in 1976. His number one priority is still the same today as it was those many years ago; commitment to providing not only the best quality service, but to constantly improve that service by focusing on what his clients need and expect.
With a B.A. from the University of Toronto, Steve obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1974 and his Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation in 1999. He is a general practitioner, with specialties in shareholder/partnership matters and estate planning services. Steve has a diverse clientele, including owner-managed family businesses, real estate companies, professionals and charities. He is also actively involved with our international affiliation, JHI, having served as the Chairman of the Region of the Americas and on the International Executive Committee.
Steve is active in various local charities, including serving as a long-time volunteer and past chair of the Professional Cabinet with the United Jewish Appeal of Greater Toronto (UJA). He has also been actively involved in youth sports, and was a former Board member of the Youthdale Treatment Centers Foundation.
Steve has made many presentations to various professional and student groups on topics such as "Choosing a Professional Advisor". "Dealing with Bankers" and "Becoming a Chartered Accountant".
